No, I would not support the right of a gay baker to refuse service to a straight person any more than I support the right of a “Christian” baker to refuse service to a gay couple.

Conservatives have, repeatedly, pushed for banning of liberal speakers, and worse — it’s called McCarthyism. They regularly try to get liberal teachers silenced or fired because they won’t teach conservative and/or religious dogma. Yes, even now.

As far as tax money: By your logic, not one nickel of MY tax money should be used to support anything that I object to: war, viagra, militarized police, subsidization of churches by tax exemption, public displays of religious paraphernalia. You are free to invade other countries, support your church, take viagra that you paid for, donate to the police department “AR-15 & tank fund”, or put up a cross and creche on your own land.

You see, my view is actually as you state: “you are free to do and say whatever you want, so long as it doesn’t harm anyone else.” But where we differ is what is harming others, and discrimination in commerce, corporate subsidies and public expense, environmental negligence, etc, is harm in my book.

So when you assume you know my beliefs by some ridiculous stereotype promulgated by Fox News, Breitbart, and other conservative mouthpieces, you really look stupid.
