I don’t do it. If my commute goes over an hour, I start wanting to work from home 3 days a week or find a new job. I keep getting ping from recruiters for jobs in San Francisco (I live in San Jose) and I say no because it would be two plus hours each way, by car or by transit. I don’t understand why people do it. Life’s too short to spend your non-work time in unpaid commuting.
