Oh, it’s well known that Amazon treats their warehouse employees like utter shit, and only hires temps so they can disavow the abysmal pay and abusive working conditions. Then again, so does Walmart and other margin driven operations. I’d jump off a bridge before I would try to be a stock picker in an Amazon FC. That ruling about time spent waiting to be searched like a criminal not being payable frosted my jets.

Amazon has its warts. The way they run their FCs is only one of them. The way they squeeze suppliers and rivals on prices is very much like being the Walmart of e-commerce. They have many others, including an intolerance for human frailties that is astounding. But they don’t do the quarterly report obeisance thing as a whole (some departments might if they are being tightly managed for fast results.)
