Yeah, although Rubbermaid set themselves up for it by getting into bed naked with Walmart.
The lesson I see from this is that any time you set your business up so that it is completely dependent on another single business, your business plan is completely at risk from problems stemming from their business plan. This is why I hate cloud vendor lock-in — being able to make vendors compete on price and SLAs protects your business. Being able to say “no” to a supplier or a customer for whatever reason is crucial to keeping a business nimble, flexible, and more immune to being gamed in the market.
But what do I know. That’s not what they teach in business school these days, apparently.
