Thank you for sharing. However, I would like to offer a different perspective. I know this is a sensitive subject matter and my intent is not to insult you. There are a number of mental illnesses that are not strictly biologically based. Therefore, one has to have a biopsychosocial approach to understanding a disorder. For example, Oppositional Defiant Disorder is a clear example of a number of components frequently equated with inconsistent parenting and a lack of structure. Some people become depressed from external precipitating events. Racism is very insidious and pervasive and many people are acculturated into it and perpetuate the ills of it. It is extremely powerful. I have seen it up close and personal. The most power form of it is what many people would consider subtle.
