I absolutely loved this movie but, speaking as a woman, I wholeheartedly agree with your point. I thought the deaths of the women to be over-graphic, and in a couple of cases unnecessary. (There are some key women who are not killed, and several men are killed, as well.)

I can plainly see the point Villanueve was making about the commodification of women’s bodies. I get it. But I found the onscreen deaths of so many women deeply disturbing.

Thank you for bringing up the subject. It needed to be said.
