The Crash

It was just an average day. I woke up, got ready, and left for school. Once I arrived, I caught up with my friends at our usual meeting place. I greeted them and gave Vanessa, one of my closest friends, a strange look after noticing her medieval garb.

“Greetings Hayley, you are looking lovely today, but I am looking lovelier,” Vanessa EXCLAIMED.

Josh, knowing I had no idea what was going on, said, “she is auditioning to be the PRIMA DONNA in the upcoming musical. She wants to get into character,” making air quotes during the last sentence.

“Of course, she is,” I said sarcastically.

In our little group, we are all different. There’s Josh, the youngest of the group, who’s a SOPHOMORE and he also plays seven different instruments. Then there is Vanessa, the oldest and most SOPHISTICATED of the group. She is always in a local production of a musical. Then there is Sami the most LUCID of the group and studying to be a PHILOSOPHER. Also, there is Alex, captain of the football team, oldest, and most GREGARIOUS of the group. Lastly, there is me, Hayley, I haven’t decided what I want to be yet. Right now I am just focusing on academics. We start talking about all the usual things INCLUDING plans for the weekend and plans for homecoming. Our CLAMOR came to an ABRUPT end when the bell rang. We all said our goodbyes and headed various directions to our different classes. Josh heading to orchestra, Vanessa heading to drama, Alex heading to gym, Sami heading to philosophy, and I begin my walk to math. As soon as I slide into my desk my phone vibrates in my pocket.

Alex: Do you want to go to lunch with the rest of the gang, I’ll drive.

Me: Sure sounds like fun!:)

Little did I know that going to lunch would change my life forever.
