The Daily Mail lied? Shocking.
Appreciate the feedback! I’ve had trouble really understanding how the auto-positioning works with elements next to text. Maybe one day I’ll get it — or maybe you could write an article explaining it to me! :-)
It’s really tough! For the most part, I try and keep my projects contained to one monolithic document that contains many Pages, rather than splitting up documents. I’m hoping the Sketch team introduce something that makes this a little easier, however. Maintaining a document like this with a team, across projects, is nearly impossible — we’re using Github, but it’s a lot of work.
Preventing the icon from resizing while maintaining it’s position is a bit tricky.
Create a group — call it “container”. Within it, create a rectangle that touches the top edge of the artboard, but not the bottom. Then also put the icon you want to maintain it’s position within the group. Give the group the resize property…
No, I create the radio button and text as one object. Then I give the radio button Pin To Corner, and the text the Resize Object property. If I need the text to support multiple lines, I do the trick with making the radio button the part of a container object that touches the top corner, so that it doesn’t center-align with the symbol. Hope that helps!
