Final work for ass 2
Thinking through doing

Research and reflection

This image was drawn by John Hejduk, and the technique called A catalog of Architectural Monsters. John said that the expression of ideas is not spread through architecture and writing, but through the design of sketches and models. On this image, we can clearly see the sketch of John’s design. It is divided into two parts, the individual and the whole. In addition, according to the study of this work, it is applied to people in life. To help people learn and work better.
Overall, in my learning feedback, A catalog of Architectural Monsters which as a technique of choice. In my draft, I have not yet understood John’s design style. So what I’ve drawn is a single building. Through my feedback from Leisa, I redid the research. I also finished my last work. It’s a multi-storey car park. And it was design by a team, which are Stephen Minning, Bobby Rakich and Matthew Hayes. Beside, the design was took in the world square in Sydney, the location is in the central of the city, business area. The reason why i choose this design, caused by interesting for me, and it was really effective. There are lots of car and people in here. Therefore, the designer create the zebra marking to protect people safety and making a number of significantly sign to remind the information of the park. In my design, the upper part is a circular entrance on the ground. This is to slow the traffic jam. The bottom part is under the ground. At the same time, the parking lot has three floors. We can see clearly that the first layer and the third layer are very different. It’s because I think the air at the bottom is not very good enough to take into account the parking problems of large vehicles. Finally, there was a series of sketches in my sketch, and I drew the shapes that the parking lot needed to use, and its final form.
