I understand that horrible things are happening to your people right now, and I’m sorry about that, I really am. What you’re asking for is special treatment that no other race gets. Work doesn’t care if my relative died, or if someone of my race is shot. They don’t care about the emotional turmoil inside me or the silent suffering I go through. It’s not their job to care. They pay me to show up and do a job that I’ve been trained to do. I don’t expect them to care about me, my race, or my feelings. My feelings and my problems aren’t theirs to deal with.
