Edd,
Don’t ever hesitate to share any of your work with me, I enjoy reading your posts. I hate to sound like an old dinosaur, but I believe masculinity in general is swiftly on the decline in these modern times. People are prone to extremes, and those of us who believe in handling things ourselves and not running to a lawyer every time somebody looks at us cross-eyed, tend to be portrayed as armed, dangerous, uneducated brutes capable of communicating only in grunts and growls. In keeping with the John Wayne theme, I’ll leave you with one of my favorite exchanges between the Duke and Maureen O’hara in McClintock:
George Washington McLintock - I saw your picture in the paper at the Governor’s Ball. You were dancing with the governor.
Katherine McClintock - At least he’s a gentleman.
George Washington McLintock - I doubt that. You have to be a man first before you’re a gentleman. He misses on both counts.
