A reasonable person would assume that you would only have to share the changes you made to the project you used and not your entire codebase which would contain code completely unrelated to the ios editor.

For what it’s worth, licenses are not for reasonable people — they’re for lawyers. And to say there are “zealots of the GPL” misses the point — the GPL was created as a political assertion on how software distribution & reuse should work. It’s not meant to be warm & fuzzy & flexible & intuitive. It’s meant to be a license for Free Software zealots, and there’s a reason why some folks object to it.
