Thank you for writing this great article about the roadster. I was (am?) actually the owner of the blue model featured in youtube. I bought it ± 2005 while working and leaving in Gurgaon. It costed me around 8–9 lackhs at the time, if i remember well but need to go the paperwork i still have at home. The body color as well as the creme interior were actually designed by my spouse.

I remember us driving it up from mumbai back to Delhi. We had so many mechanical problems all the way up LOL. Yet we just loved the unique experience!

What made the experience unique? A combination of…owning such an poorly built machine yet expensive, the challenge driving such a mad but exhilarating ‘machine’ at 120 kms per hour, all these sensations being on the road days and nights through Mumbai, the Gujarat, Rajasthan… the fabulous people we met during the road trip. Yes Unique.

Our original ambition was to drive it from Trivandrum up to Manali but the car was very much unreliable. Because we had constant problems (some of them as serious as having a wheel coming off while driving in the motorway in Haryana), we abandoned our plan.

In 2007, due to work commitment, we sadly had to leave Delhi and go back to London. We left the car with Chinkara Motors but we were hoping we could bring it back to London later. Since then we never heard from Guido and Shama and i am not even sure where the car is….

Missing it.
