Our weekend in Quebec is drawing to a close. It has been lovely. We have had a delightful AirBnB flat not too far from the centre. Apart from a trip to the Apple Store to get M’s iPad sorted after it crashed following an update, we have done lots of sightseeing. We drove up the river yesterday to see the amazing Montmorency Falls – higher than Niagara apparently. Then onto Ile d’Orleans for a picnic lunch and views back to the falls and towards Quebec. We drove on to see the enormous and beautiful Basilica of Saint-Anne-de-Beaupre before heading back to Quebec Old Town, wandering round, looking at the old houses and soaking up the atmosphere.

This morning we headed for the Anglican Cathedral for the Sung Eucharist, lovely service, and the Dean, complete with earring, preached very well on the virtues of waiting. We walked round the Old Port Market, bought some goodies for dinner including a veg we hadn’t seen before called ‘tete de violin’, delicious. A walk right round the ramparts finished the day. Sun shining, wind blowing the flags straight!
