Designed with dual motor force feedback, responsive pedals and on-wheel controls, it takes racing games to a whole new level. The G29 basically features some few improvement of its predecessor model G27. One of the main differences between the two is that the former is fully compatible with PS4 while the latter does not.

Below is an in-depth review of the Logitech G29:

Design And Setup

The Logitech G29 is designed with lots of features that make it look and feel like a real steering wheel. The wheel features 27 cm (about 10 inches) diameter, a sizable metal frame and a leather finishing. Its solid construction can withstand wear and tear, which assures a gamer of even greater durability. G29 construction also features easy-access controls, a responsive pedal unit, driving force shifter and base that make gaming even more interesting. The pedals are designed with a retractable carpet grip and multiple rubber feet to ensure minimal movement and comfort when gaming.

The pedals and base require three types of cables to function: power cable, USB cable and a cable linking the base and the pedals. Once you’ve opened the box, you can start install the entire set immediately and start playing even after 10 minutes. Setting up the entire unit is simple. All you need to do is connect all the cables where necessary, mount the base and you’ll be good to go.

The G29 platform is compatible with a number of systems including PS4, Ps3, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7 and other games that support Logitech force racing wheel. Use of G29 on a PC can be done by installing the Logitech Gaming software and then selecting your desired racing games. For playStation 3 & 4, all you need to do is simply plug and play. Be sure through the manual to get a clear idea on what needs to go where.

Pedal Board

The G29’s pedalboard is what sets it above its competitors. The set-up consists of three pedals: brake, accelerator and clutch. Each of these pedals offers a different tension style, which allows you to comfortably accelerate, change gears and/or brake just like how you would do in a real car. The brakes are particularly fine-tuned provide a more responsive and accurate braking feel.

Apart from the charming paddle board, Logitech G29 comes with a number of great features any racing gamer would love. One among the great features is the easy-to-access game controls. With the D-pad, paddle shifter, console buttons and LED indicators conveniently located on the wheel, it can be easier to control your racing. The LED display acts as a tachometer to help you know when to change gears. Racing-style paddles are placed behind each side of the wheel for convenient gear shifting.
