I’d have to agree. I’ve followed up on projects that have some technical debt and when I see extremely esoteric uses of JavaScript idioms, I proceed to face-palm. Don’t get me wrong, I’m with you in appreciating cleaner, refactored code, but the learning curve of following what the previous engineer did is a bit of a drag.
