Masdar Re-visit

There were two things that could be improved on my Masdar exercise — broadening my demographic and considering the negatives that could occur from the use of my technology.

Cascio has provided a wider lens to my how I will think about the future when it comes to my designs. Everything he had mentioned seemed common sense and very practical things to consider — but I think as people we fail to acknowledge the consequences that come with advancement in technology. As helpful it can be to our lives, the negative outcomes can be just as damaging.

In my Masdar, I did not consider a wider target audience besides the general public. Those with no disabilities, gender inequalities, etc. I think the blind would be at the biggest disadvantage with my design. They would receive no benefit. To address this issue, I have decided to broaden my design and enhance all five senses. By doing so, the experience can be richer and address the other demographics.

The other notion I did not acknowledge was the negatives that could occur. People could easily misuse this and project images that wouldn’t be appropriate or use it for propaganda.
