Mental Maps for Masdar Re-design

I used STEEP to determine the factors that went into my Masdar re-design. I didn’t initially write all of this out, but these thoughts were defiantly considered while I was sketching/writing my design.

In this Masdar world, I assume everyone is somewhat well off. It seems like a city that requires some wealth to live in. Due to the location of the city, I also expect the demographic to be primarily of the United Arab Emirates. In my scenario, only those with vision could be able to benefit. However, after critically thinking it through with Cascio lens, I broadened my design to be able to enhance all senses. The circle that was least applicable to my scenario was economics in my opinion. There is a possibility that ads could be projected through the technology, but that wasn’t the purpose of me creating this. I was hoping to change the social circle the greatest. Through this installation, I was hoping that the people of Masdar could live their lives comfortably, and lowering tensions between their neighbors.

Forces that could shift my work could possibly be simply sunlight. If there is too much light, the projections on the buildings could be washed out. But there could be counteractive shades that could be installed to combat this. The chance of rain could also affect/distort the projections — but images that counteract this could be projected.
