The Bible is Incompatible with Heliocentrism
Scripture Affirms That Earth is a Stationary Plane Under a Firmament
The Earth stands still and is built on Foundations.
Psalm 104:5 He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved.

While the Bible says Earth is firm, secure, and established, Heliocentrists claim that Earth is spinning at 1,000 mph, while moving around the sun at 66,600 mph. They further claim that the entire solar system is moving around the Milky Way at 500,000 mph, while the Milky Way itself is expanding outward through space at 1.3 million mph.
There is a solid domed firmament above the stationary Earth
Genesis 1: 7–8: And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
Psalms 19:1: (To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.) The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
Job 37:18: Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?
Ezekiel 10:1: Then I looked, and, behold, in the firmament that was above the head of the cherubims there appeared over them as it were a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne.
Ezekiel 1:25: And there was a voice from the firmament that was over their heads, when they stood, and had let down their wings.

According to the heliocentric model, there is no solid dome around Earth — only various layers of atmosphere. This model rejects the notion of water being outside of a firmament, and instead insists that there is a non-pressurized vacuum which is somehow surrounding our pressurized atmosphere.
The sun, moon, and stars are within the firmament, not outside of it
Genesis 1:14–17: And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. Psalm 19:4: Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun
Since they reject the notion of a firmament to begin with, heliocentrists scoff at the notion that the sun, moon, and stars are within the firmament. They say that the sun is 93 million miles away (a figure that has changed more than a few times over the years) and that the moon is 238,900 miles from Earth.
When asked how it is that the sun and moon appear the same size in the sky, astronomers argue that this is because the sun is 400 times larger than the moon, and also happens to be 400 times further away. They furthermore claim that the stars are so far away as to be unreachable to Earth. They say that the closest of these stars is Proxima Centauri, which is roughly 4.3 light years, or 25,300,000,000,000 miles away. How they came up with that distance is anyone’s guess.
The Earth was formed before the sun, moon, and stars — not afterward
Genesis 1: 9–13 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the third day.

According to mainstream Science, however, the sun is 4.603 billion years old and the Earth is 4.54 billion years old “plus or minus 50 million years”, making the Sun several hundred million years older than Earth. Scientists also claim that both were made by a happenstance accumulation of gas and dust shot from a Big Bang, and not the design of Almighty God.
It is the sun and moon that move, not the Earth
Amos 8:9 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord God, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day
Joshua 10:12–13 Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.
Habakkuk 3:11 The sun and moon stood still in their habitation: at the light of thine arrows they went, and at the shining of thy glittering spear.
Heliocentrists originally claimed that the sun stood still in the center of the universe, and that the Earth revolved around it. Their theories have since evolved in their complexity and creativity, and they now claim that the Earth does indeed orbit the sun — but that it does so whilst the sun and the entire solar system moves at some mind-bending speed, in corkscrew fashion, through the vacuum of space.
The sun is above the Earth, as referenced by the saying “Everything Under the Sun” which is found numerous times in Ecclesiastes
Ecclesiastes 1:9 That which has been is that which will be,
And that which has been done is that which will be done.
So there is nothing new under the sun.Ecclesiastes 9:6 Indeed their love, their hate and their zeal have already perished, and they will no longer have a share in all that is done under the sun.
Ecclesiastes 8:15 So I commended pleasure, for there is nothing good for a man under the sun except to eat and to drink and to be merry, and this will stand by him in his toils throughout the days of his life which God has given him under the sun.
“Everything under the sun” remains a popular phrase to this day, even used by the same scientists who promote heliocentrism. Shouldn’t they say something like, “Everything around the sun”?
The moon gives off light, it doesn’t reflect it
Isaiah 13:10 The stars of heaven and their constellations will not show their light. The rising sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light
Isaiah 60:19 The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory
Jeremiah 31:35 This is what the Lord says, he who appoints the sun to shine by day, who decrees the moon and stars to shine by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar — the Lord Almighty is his name
Matthew 24:29 Immediately after the distress of those days “‘the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken

Heaven and God’s throne are directly above Earth
Luke 24:51 And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.
Genesis 49:25 Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb:

Isaiah 7:11 “Ask a sign from the LORD your God. Make it as deep as Sheol or as high as heaven above.”
Revelation 5:3 No one in heaven above, or on the earth, or under the earth, was able to open the book, or to look in it.
Ecclesiastes 1:13 And I set my mind to seek and explore by wisdom concerning all that has been done under heaven. It is a grievous task which God has given to the sons of men to be afflicted with

According to the Globe model, there is no heaven above Earth — in fact, there is no heaven at all according to Steven Hawking and other prominent astronomers. And there is no God, either. Furthermore, there isn’t even a direction that one could classify as “up” on the globe — there is only *out* from the surface, or *in* towards the core of the Earth. Globe believers call Australia “down under”, indicating that the direction Australians look toward Heaven is the same direction we consider downward, and vice versa.
God is close, not far
Acts 17:24–27 The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else. From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.
Jeremiah 23:23 “Am I a God who is near,” declares the Lord, “And not a God far off? “Can a man hide himself in hiding places So I do not see him?” declares the Lord. “Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?” declares the Lord.
Again, heliocentrists bely the notion of a God entirely, often going out of their way to mock those who do.
Earth is a flat plane, all of which can be seen from high above
Daniel 4:11 The tree grew large and strong and its top touched the sky; it was visible to the ends of the earth
Matthew 4:8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.
Revelation 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
Isaiah 40:22 He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.
Job 38:14 The earth takes shape like clay under a seal; its features stand out like those of a garment

Biblical support for the globe?
There are two Bible verses in particular which Globe supporters attempt to use to support heliocentrism. The first is Job 26:7 and the second is Isaiah 40:22
Job 26:7 He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing
This meaning of this verse is misinterpreted to imply that the Earth is “hanging on nothingness”, meaning floating in empty space as the globe model implies. However, this would be directly in contradiction with the many Bible verses, including those in the book of Job, that state that Earth is built upon pillars and foundations.
Job 38:4–6 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;
While the language used in Job might be a bit perplexing, it most certainly is not supporting a spinning globe Earth in the empty void of space. As laid out above, the Bible implies that it is water, not the empty vacuum of space, that exists outside of the firmament. It is more reasonable to interpret the verse as its stated — the Earth does not hang on anything. Because we already know that it is supported below on foundations.
- “Those who promote the heliocentric model often cite to Job 26:7 to suggest that the passage implies that the Earth is floating in space. But a careful reading of Job in the context of the whole Bible indicates that God is indicating that the earth is not hung on anything. The earth is supported from underneath on pillars, which are born of God (Psalm 75:3). Hanging something suggests that it is being supported from above. To hang means to suspend from above. The earth is not suspended from above, it is supported from below on pillars. It is literally hanging from nothing, just as the passage in Job states. Isaiah 40:22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:
This verse is used by globe believing Christians in an attempt to say that the “circle” of the Earth is actually a reference to a spherical Earth. There are several problems with this reading. First, a sphere and a circle are fundamentally different shapes. And as it so happens, the Flat Earth conception of the world is laid out as a circle. So the “circle” of the Earth actually supports the flat earth model, not the ball earth. Those who wish to say that Isaiah meant ball when he said circle, are also out of luck. The book of Isaiah actually mentions the word “ball” in Chapter 22 verse 18
Isaiah 22:18 He will surely violently turn and toss thee like a ball into a large country: there shalt thou die, and there the chariots of thy glory shall be the shame of thy lord’s house.
Isaiah 40:22 also says that God stretches out the heavens as a curtain, and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in. This doesn’t fit well with a spinning ball moving at many times the speed of a bullet. When you go camping and pitch your tent, would you look for curved or uneven ground? No, you locate the flattest possible ground to lay your foundation on. Tents are laid over a flat surface, not over an arched ground, let alone a ball.
It goes without saying that you would also not choose an area that will be moving, such as pitching a tent on a train. Good habitats are in nearly every case associated with non-motion. Similarly, God wishes for us to have a stable and solid foundation for the home he built for us. He is not sitting above a fast traveling ball that is careening through infinite space — He sitteth above the circle of the stationary, flat plane and watches over us from his throne in heaven.
