Long Neckie Ladies #2431

Welcome to Kids On The Blockchain’s new blog episode. This is a series of weekly blogs bringing you the latest from the wonderful world of 12-year-old digital artist, Nyla Hayes & her Kids On The Blockchain mission.

About Kids On The Blockchain

Kids On The Blockchain is a mission to discover, empower & support child digital artists on the blockchain.

About Long Neckie Ladies

Nyla fell in love with the Brontosaurus, and lovingly called it, “long neckie.” The gentle nature and bravery of the creatures amplified the aesthetic beauty of their long necks in Nyla’s mind, inspiring her to create the Long Neckie Ladies collection.

The collection is completely sold out and available for secondary sales on OpenSea.

Everything That Made Last Week (And Our Mission) Special

“Legally” Long Neckie Ladies

There is absolutely no way to write this that would do complete justice to our excitement, happiness and gratitude — well, without further ado, we will just go straight to the point: THE Reese Witherspoon (yes, the one from LEGALLY BLONDE, THE MORNING SHOW, BIG LITTLE LIES & SO MANY ICONIC CINEMATIC PERFORMANCES) gave Nyla and our community a huge shout-out on her Twitter last week!

We are still pinching ourselves, and also extremely honored at the same time.

It is no surprise that Reese has long been an advocate for women and girls, and her recent entry into the world of cryptocurrencies and blockchain is closely followed by many around the world, which she is beautifully dedicating to women NFT creators.

We are ever so honored to be a part of the earliest projects she and her team have graciously recognized and acknowledged, while bringing so many smiles to the NFT and overall blockchain communities.

Reese, thank you so much for supporting us, and we hope you follow our Kids On The Blockchain Mission, as we help more children around the world advance their careers on the blockchain.

Nyla Hayes At NFT.NYC

It is no doubt that our excitement for NFT.NYC got elevated by Reese Witherspoon’s shout-out on Twitter. With no better way to start Nyla and the team’s visit to NFT.NYC, we knew we were in for some wonderful experiences.

NFT.NYC, with all its chaos, the magnetic New York energy & inaugural memories, started off with this fantastic photo of Nyla’s contribution towards an auction for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital via a NFT piece that she made to honor Dr. Sian Proctor (our resident favorite astronaut).

Following this wonderful photo and celebration of NFT artists’ impact on auctions, we were treated to this iconic picture of Nyla and her family with our favourite photographer, John Knopf. Their smiles say it all!

As this was Nyla and her family’s first post-COVID trip, she sent out a lovely message of gratitude to all our supporters in the NFT community for making it worthwhile, especially with anxiety around travel.

Here is Nyla and her family having a legendary lunch with some of our most generous and brilliant supporters, including Keith Grossman, President of TIME.

Pure joy, fun and countless memories left Nyla, her family and all of us smiling as the NFT.NYC events unfolded. For those of us who could not make it to the event in New York City, the Feeling Of Missing Out (FOMO) was felt strongly until we saw Nyla and her family’s wonderful pictures that were shared with us throughout the week, giving us a chance to revel for each other’s success and be happy for our entire community.

We thank each and every one of our supporters for everything they do to support Kids On The Blockchain, and look forward to seeing some of you at future events IRL.

Emilio Barrera Drops ‘The Queen’ — A Rare 1/1

The unstoppable, magnetically creative and masterfully talented young Emilio Barrera did not let the overwhelming NFT.NYC Twitter flood stop him from quite literally blessing us with a rare 1/1 artwork piece, ‘The Queen.’

The 24" x 30" canvas was prepared with acrylic and krink paints, giving us a neat aesthetic of pinks.

Emilio, thank you for this wonderful piece, and for your unwavering spirit to blaze the trail for millions of child artists around the world.

Please follow Emilio’s journey and check out his new creation on OpenSea.
