I think the biggest factor for UCLA will be if it gets into the West bracket.

Since the Wooden era, almost every time the Bruins have played regional games in California or Arizona, they have gone on to the Final Four:

1976 (Los Angeles) — Final Four

1980 (Tuscon) — Finals

1995 (Oakland) — Champions

2002 (San Jose) — Lost in Sweet 16

2006 (Oakland — Finals

2007 (San Jose) — Final Four

2008 (Phoenix)— Final Four

Their results in Western Regionals held in Utah or New Mexico have led to disappointing upsets. And their results anywhere except the West have been abysmal.
