In the original linked article, I critiqued the monogram as follows:

Dude, I’m sorry but this is a black box with a white “M” inside. If you want to read an e-book and set your tablet to night reading, I get it. But putting down words to paper, computer or mobile device? Are you kidding me?

With respect to the logo, yes it is a wordmark, but how does this change anything?

I addressed a number of the points raised by Mr. Torre, especially with regard to the issue of reflecting the right tone (#2) and whether there’s a brilliant idea that supports everything and takes it to a new level (#6).

What do you think Medium’s logo does to address these questions?
