A simplified proposition that is largely true.
However, opportunity and family culture play a part. These days’ perspective entrepreneurs are wooed by corporate, city jobs or educated not to be employers. The spirit still found in poorer societies has been lost; we no longer starve if one does not take responsibility for oneself. Civilisation relies on innovation and cerebral power yet our education is academically based.
What many rich people do not realise is when to stop being eclectic and realise their children most likely become rich bums. How to convert new money into old money is a problem and often there is a lack of social responsibility.
