Ready for your style makeover?
How to fall in love with your looks.

This year is a year for inspiring new resolutions — one of my personal goals for 2015 is to discover the secrets of styling and to share my findings with you.
I’m super excited already and can’t wait to start! What about you?

Have you ever looked at Kate Middleton, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley or Cara Delevingne and wondered: “How are they doing it? Why does everything look so great on them?”

Well, its because they know their own style and they are dressing themselves accordingly. Just look how differently they dress — their sense for fashion perfectly represents their personalities and how they want to be perceived by the people around them.

“Of course” I can hear you say “they have stylists who take care of their fashion choices and put together amazing outfits for them”. Well, this is true — styling is a skill! But it’s a skill that you and I and everyone else can learn!

So what are you waiting for? Let’s get stylish!
I got this amazing book for Christmas! It’s called “Paris Street Style — A Guide To Effortless Chic” by Isabelle Thomas & Frederique Veysset.
I’ve been endlessly inspired by it and wanted to share some of the thoughts and ideas I learned from this book with you.

1. The first step.
The first step to get an amazing new look is to recognize that you will need to invest time and energy in it. You need to understand that it will take some time to discover your own personal style and you have to be patient and kind to yourself.
Is it worth it?
YES! Remember, people you meet are bound to judge you on the way you look. Your style and attitude conveys a very clear message to the others — what would you chose this message to be?
“I am happy about my appearance and I radiate self-confidence” or “I’m not quite sure about my looks… hmm… I think my bum looks flat in this…”

2. Be observant and open for new things.
Read magazines and blogs, observe the styles in movies and on TV. Check out outfit inspirations on Pinterest or Polyvore.
The idea is to train your eye for what you like and which outfit combinations you think go well together.
You don’t have to reinvent the wheel — make your life easier and take inspiration from the experts who have already mastered the skill of styling.

3. “Study yourself as objectively and neutrally as possible.”
Look through your photographs, and make a mental note every time you think you were dressed well. What were you wearing? A dress? A pair of jeans with a top? Was the top tight or lose? Which colours suit you?
Study your body and try to see which parts of it you like and want to accentuate. Maybe you have a graceful neck, a tiny waist or amazing curves? Try out a few different outfits and see whether they are flattering to your body shape.

4. Experiment! Experiment! Experiment!
Dare to try something new — a colour you’ve never worn before, long dress instead of a short one, skirt instead of your usual pair of trousers, a blouse instead of a T-shirt, just be open to everything the fashion world has to offer you!
Take your friends on a shopping trip with you and spend a fun day trying on different outfits. Take pictures of your looks so you can examine them afterwards and decide which styles suit you best!
Don’t take yourself too seriously and don’t put too much pressure on yourself. You don’t have to find your ideal style in one day — you have time! Just play with it and make it fun!
Please let me know your thoughts and ideas. Did my post inspire you?
Are you looking forward to reading more?
I will try to write weekly posts of my fashion discoveries and I will keep you updated about my own personal styling development and how it affects my daily life.

Lots of love, be stylish and love your looks! You are amazing in your own unique and wonderful way — accept and embrace it!
