Acknowledgement over recognition
I’ve been focusing a lot more on this recently and have been getting huge wins. I’m not big on recognition, I’m terrible at it.
At the same time, my team does great work and they need to know it, the same as it’s my role to hold them accountable for their opportunities and growth.
Getting into the trenches before-during-after projects and lending insight, a pat on the shoulder or a high five has helped not only me be more engaging, but allows my team to feel confident in my directions-good or bad
Acknowledging the great execution they did and/or even more important, the bad decision I made and the way they fixed it is a win/win every time!
