I enjoyed reading your article. I just started college and one of my first assignments is to post a comment on an article that I found interesting. I was having trouble finding an interesting article that I would be able to write two hundred and fifty words about, until I found this. So thank you for writing something interesting that I, as a college freshman, can relate to. I loved that you began your article by explaining that procrastination isn’t a character flaw. I also loved that you suggested different ideas on why students procrastinate and I found that your ideas were quite accurate. Quite honestly your reasons are the most accurate explanations that I have read on why students my age put off assignments. It has always bothered me that people say procrastination is a result of laziness. I was a huge procrastinator in high school. That being said, I didn’t procrastinate because I was lazy, which is what most people would tell me is the reason I put off assignments till an hour before they were due. Quite the contrary, I worked very hard in high school and graduated at the top of my class. How could someone me be considered “lazy”? I also didn’t procrastinate because I was bad at the subject matter I was working on. In fact, I did quite well in the classes that I procrastinated the most in. I found your solutions to procrastination very beneficial. I will definitely start asking myself what I need to be doing and why I need to be doing it. If I know the importance of my work then maybe I will be able to complete it in a timely manner; not an hour before the class starts. Thanks again!
