Day 1 — The start to the September 2018, 30 Day writing challenge
Day 1 — The start to the September 2018, 30 Day writing challenge
This is the start of my 30-day challenge… Writing a medium post everyday, for the next 30 days during the month of September 2018.
The articles must be at least 500 words and no more than 1500 words. (I’m already seeing a challenge to get to ±500 words.)
The big challenge is going to be to make the time for writing. I also need to find the best process for doing this. I’m going to try and do the outline and draft version in the morning, before 6am, and do the editing, review and submitting in the evenings?
I am confident the process will go a lost smoother the more time I spend on this. Learning from it, getting feedback and adjusting the process over the next couple of days.
What’s in it for you?
Hopefully you will follow along on this journey, learn something, give feedback and get inspired to put your ideas out into the world.
This is the for family man, the entrepreneur, the bootstrapper, the dad, mom, the wife, the husband… the person that wants to put their ideas out to the world.
Why this challenge?
Writing daily will make me a better at it. It will help clarify my thoughts and ideas. It gives me a platform to those ideas out to the world. Even if those ideas are in its infancy. I have so many ideas that are not acted upon. Hopefully by writing about it, it will give me clarity and force me in to some form of action.
Sometimes putting our ideas out into world is enough.
Posting here on Medium will also help me get more comfortable with creating, sharing, and being more vulnerable. Learning to deal with it and to be ok with it.
I keep on having to remind myself…
Just share… get it out.
Stop overthinking things.
Get feedback, adjust. Rinse and repeat.
I guess, the goal is also to create more than what you consume.
At the moment consuming content is not a problem at all. I usually consume content on a daily basis. Mostly consuming articles on Medium articles, listening to some great podcasts, Instagram and Youtube. All that time spending learning about new things, but not putting enough effort into putting the learning into practice.
A 30 day challenge like this is the S.M.A.R.T thing to do. It is specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time based).
Mostly I will write about everyday life challenges, adventures, the ups and downs. Covering topics like:
- Daily challenges,
- New ideas,
- What are the things that I worry about. How to deal with it,
- Goals,
- Family and what it is like to be a dad of 4 amazing kids,
- The challenges to live a healthy life and exercise more regularly
- App development challenges and how to become a better developer.
- Working with a startup and awesome people
- Personal development
So today is DAY 1. THE START.
The challenge is to come back tomorrow, show up, be consistent and trust the process.
So let’s start something today.
