Love

She is a cruel beast

Moving the faster way

In circles.

War

Looks like death

But reeks of life

Sending

The elevator between heaven and hell.

Cupid

Shot an arrow.

Forgot where it landed

Left litter on the world

In the form of wandering hearts

Zeus

Called his brother

Who was human--

Ish.

Hades cried about a woman,

too.

Poseidon

Poisoned himself

With mead, then fruit, then gold

And finally

Her touch.

The sirens song is simple

And ruthless

And murderous

It songs of death and distrust and

detainment

But worse

It rings of beautiful women

Singing

La

La

La

Love

Simple

Easy

But only

If you choose to listen.

And sing me a song in return.
