My Hormones Hate Me

I am 55 now but never realized how blessed I was that my endometriosis was diagnosed at age 23 and then medically managed the rest of my child bearing years. Yes, I endured “exploratory surgery” with the long horizontal incision across my abdomen, and I lost a tube and ovary and some surrounding tissue during the surgery, but now I realize that this probably saved me many years of misery. I am grateful for my OBGYN catching it and my surgeon for getting rid of it and advising me on how to keep it at bay for many years to come.
