As a former executive in HR, I want to reiterate the author’s advice about going to HR when you experience disrespect or discrimination. I had a saying — ”This can’t happen on my watch”, and I personally held men responsible for their discriminatory actions against women. I made it my business to establish and strengthen a culture of women supporting women. Give HR a chance — as a function and as people. We are there to make a positive difference in the workplace.
