The Masterpiece
Once upon a time there was a beautiful girl. As you looked on her you could see the sun shine upon her face. She glowed with beauty. Her hair was a beautiful crown on her head. She was joyful, loving and lovely. She moved freely and enjoyed being free. There were these objects. They were robot looking objects. They weren’t happy. They weren’t joyful and they definitely didn’t move freely. They were given this little girl to teach and care for. The objects hated this. After all, they didn’t ask for this little girl. They determined they would make her into what they wanted, even if it absolutely broke her. The little girl didn’t know this. She came, bubbly and cheerful, as she always was. Quickly she realized that she wasn’t wanted. The objects beat her up. They yelled at her. They did unthinkable and horrible things to her. She did feel broken and very sad. One day, the objects decided to do more damage to the little girl. They decided that they could re-make this little girl. They had her go on a table where they cut the little girl into pieces and transformed her into a new object. While being cut and sliced, the girl hurt and now she was something new. She did not know this new thing she had become. She felt powerless. She was not herself, but she still had the memory of who she was. The objects frequently didn’t like the thing they made, so they cut her over and over again to re-make something new. Each time, the little girl didn’t fight, she just got on the table when she was told to do so. More and more objects were invited to make the girl new. Soon, the little girl could no longer remember who she once was. One day, someone new came in. This person was not robot like. It was a man. He smiled. His eyes shined like the sun. Love emanated from his very being. Why, he wasn’t a robot at all. This man corrected the robots and they were angry. The man asked if he could “cut” the girl too. Of course the objects happily agreed. The man bent down and whispered in the little girl’s ear. “Don’t be afraid,” He said. “I know you have been cut into so many pieces that you don’t even know who you are. I know love is something you have never experienced. Please let me cut once more and put you back together.” The little girl agreed. The man cut and cut and soon the little girl was who she once was. However, she could not love. She could not let others love her. She could not feel. She could not express her emotions. She stood. She stood as a robot. The man scooped her up. He put her on his lap. He held her. She began to feel. She cried for a long time. The man held her there until she was finished. The man carried her out of that place. Now, it was time. Time for joy to return. Time for her to re-learn who she was. Time for beauty to be restored. It was time for her to be who she was created to be.
