A Letter From a War Zone

Bravo Justin. Thank you.

I work in Iraq. If Mr. Trump (or Mr. Moroni) want to see what a war zone looks like, they should come for a visit. It’s not all its cracked up to be, except, of course, in places and homes where the violence has struck. What I was struck by is the fact that the ordinary things you wrote about happen here as well…dinners, drinks, celebrations, strolls… people working around the clock to pull themselves and their country up and forward.

The world and its issues are so complex and I find myself continually astounded at the blanket statements and attachment of specific issues to specific people that are made. @ DC Cat: Hilary come to be a senator in NY during a time when we experienced 911. In addition to the devastation of human life there was an economic backlash that crashed much, including jobs, the education system, infrastructure, etc. and the tax base of those two towers were wiped out. And as far as ignoring pleas for more security personnel in Benghazi, it is a known fact that the GOP slashed the security budget for US embassies and consulates across the planet, real money which Hilary fought hard to have reinstated.

Exhausting…it is exhausting to apply facts to these blanket statements that only go to show people’s total lack of indepth understanding, reliance on soundbites, extraordinary laziness to do the research required before speaking, and ability to lump PR campaign-fed lies together to support what they think they already know.

I didn’t mean to write so much, only to thank you Justin, for making some excellent points and bringing some intelligence to an election conversation that makes many wince in its stupidity, ignorance, and hatefulness.
