Good stuff here. Would like to offer my experience with ritual. Ritual served as a container for me to realize the universal connection of all life. It is what a Buddhist might call “right use of ritual.” It served the purpose of giving us all a way to be among others on the same path; the opportunity to study the self, and then realize we are all innately wise, compassionate interconnected beings. After the euphoria, peace, …seemingly without end, then one must re-enter the “marketplace”, the world of the ordinary. Some stay too long in that state, resisting the walk back down the mountain with the fear that “high” will go away. What has to be learned is how to be in service to all the many beings, which is a lifetime of cultivating what we innately know into action and being. My 2 cents.
