My memoir, Lifetime of News, is about my four decades in television news in Los Angeles and my journey to enter a newsroom, becoming the second woman to do so. Prior to news I worked in network television programming at CBS Television City during the Golden Years at the Tiffany network on production of Playhouse 90, Judy Garland’s show, Red Skelton among others. In news I worked on major crime stories starting with the Manson murders, Menendez Brothers, The Hillside Strangler, Night Stalker, and the criminal and civil O.J. Simpson trials. I covered every political convention starting with Nixon’s 1972 in Miami. I had a long history with Ronald Reagan beginning at age 12 and ending when I found myself working on his obituary. Mine is a true story of a single mother who persevered in the pursuit of her dream career. Lifetime of News by Lorraine Hillman is published and available on Amazon Books and Kindle.
