If the Kings have made these choices on the basis that they understand that they’re not going to get many wins next year then they won the draft. It makes sense to go for character as well as talent when you’ve had their recent history and are trying to build a new young ball team largely through the draft. If however this summer they fill what’s left of their cap with multi-year contracts for middling veterans then we’ll know that the Kings have not learned shit. And thrown away the chance to have a guy like Monk on their roster for no good reason.
