I’ve no time for this alpha BS. It’s a team game. Why make excuses for players wanting to make franchises their own personal fiefdom? People twist this alpha BS to glide over bad behaviour. Tim Duncan was just as much an alpha as Kobe, it’s just one used that position as an excuse to behave like a complete dick while the other used his position to set an example to promote harmony.
I’m not even convinced that this is about alpha BS. I strongly suspect that this is about Kyrie and his team wanting to protect his image. They know that the Dubs should crush them next year in the Finals and they don’t want Kyrie becoming the face of a franchise that craters when LeBron leaves. This reeks of covering his own back.
