Ah, to rest under a waning Leo moon. But there is no rest for the wicked, is there? No, there will be no Leonine fun and games — this is Scorpio season! One of particular seriousness. And so, what are we to do?

I was born under a waning gibbous Leo moon culminating to square the Scorpio Sun. I know what it’s like to have a dark Sun cast shadows on my need for fun, love, romance, and childishness. But I also know that this same darkness can inspire great creativity. As we reflect on the current lunar cycle, which began with a Libra New Moon on October 14, we are in need of some serious fun, some light in the darkness. We’ve questioned during the Taurus Full Moon what is worth risking our security. But have we truly acknowledged our vulnerability? Is there even room to embrace it?

There are (at least) five things Scorpio and Leo have in common: courage, vulnerability, sex, stubbornness, and intensity. The biggest differences are whereas Leo shines its light on its own, Scorpio dims that light in order to merge with another. Both are inherently vulnerable and courageous for doing so. If our emotions are tied up with a moon in Leo and our will with a Sun in Scorpio, how can one support the other?
