Attention is so often in the details, and the gutters for your home are not an exception to this rule. If you’ve gone through the process of selling your home before, you know buyers will extensively search for problems or bargaining chips in your home to try and reduce the value when they come to the negotiating table.

Paint, in general, is an easy and cost-effective way to increase both your curb appeal and the value of your home. If you dive deeply enough into the subject, you will find that painting specific rooms specific colors can have an astronomical impact on the value of your home.

A house is a book we can and do judge by its cover. Design synergy will play a key role in this process. A home should be clean, in good condition, and have a consistent design and color scheme.

Helpful Tools for Choosing Your Colors

Let’s look at the process of how to decide what color to use for your gutters. The first question you’ll want to ask yourself is, what is your goal? Is your goal to stand out with your gutters or to blend in?

If the goal is to stand out, you’ll want to explore colors that will work well as an accent to the primary colors on your home. Speaking to a paint expert or using some of the paint software tools available online can also help you make the best decision for your home.

Tip: If you are going to change up your color scheme and add an accent color, check with your Homeowner’s Association to get approval on new color and save yourself the headache down the road.

Blending Your Gutter Color With the Rest of Your House

Now, if you have chosen to blend your gutters with the colors of the rest of your exterior, I have two pieces of advice for you. For your gutters, you will want to match them to the color of your roof shingles. This is another example where I would consult a paint expert to help you best blend and match your roof. For your downspouts, you will want to match them with the primary colors of the side of your home.

Lotz of Logic

The overall message here is that this small task is an important one in the process of home improvement. You want to head into it with a defined plan, and if you do so, the outcome will be one you’re happy with. Whether you decided to hire professionals or do it yourself, it’s always best practice to consult some experts. Whatever choices you make along the way, make them with care.
