Cinnamon’s caution
Evades cardamom’s bold feint —
Yet can’t stop thinking
Of what might have happened next
Had she kissed him back.

There’s one way to know:
Pull him close and kiss him hard
Like she’s all in
With whatever they’ll create
When impulses cool

And logical reigns
Supreme in messy…

We’re in new territory here, kiddo

We weren’t supposed to make it this far: amateurs with the wrong shoes,
Insufficient, inadequate everything essential from water to packs.
Still, we persevered, climbing and clambering, slipping and sliding
Our way into sights we’ve never seen nor imagined from familiar safety.

Feeling courageous, we held onto trees, attempted ambitious…

Life’s too mysterious to take it too seriously

Rogue wave soaked small, intrepid explorer absorbed in moat building,
Playing at surf’s edge that cold, bright March day, edging ever closer
To new treasures and freshly wet sand superior for castle construction.

Stunned boy gasped at the cold, stared at uncaring sea churning waves
To douse his innocence in brutal…
