Ben Carson sailed through his confirmation process. WTF.

Julian Castro, Carson’s immediate predecessor, was formerly the mayor of San Antonio. Shaun Donovan, who held the post before Castro, led New York City’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development. Before that was Steve Preston, who ran the Small Business Administration.

And what exactly did those professional politicians do to improve things? Why do people on the left think that the only justification to work in the public sector is other public sector experience?

Have we not seen how messed up things are under career politicians yet? 30+ years of a slow decline has not taught any of you that maybe we need to go in a different direction?

Career employees of the department can help Carson with the bureaucracy, what we need in the leadership is something new, a different way of looking at the problems and a a mind willing to consider new ideas and approaches.
