One of Obama’s more impeachable moments was when he denied services which arguably had not been impacted by the House funding shutdown in 2013 to a wide number of people. He actually called the Federal Park Police out (I’m sure spending some overtime wages to do so) to block a group of World War Two veterans from visiting an open-air World War Two memorial. The Democrats at that time weren’t just telling a “shutdown narrative,” they were punishing Americans for electing a Congress who wouldn’t rubber-stamp Obama’s directives.

Even worse than the Republican Party’s deficit spending habit is its spinelessness in defending its prerogatives to make law and to require the President not to take executive actions which violate law. We elected those people to represent us against an overreaching President and they are failing to do it.
