Virtual Reality Needs to Be Social to Succeed
Signe Brewster

Oculus Rift had better get its price point down, or it’ll never catch on. I’m in SecondLife, and I have to tell you, Project Sansar is the answer to a question most SLers haven’t asked. We’d prefer that SL management spent our premium membership dollars on things pertinent to what we pay Premium for — more and better activities and amenities in the world we’re creating content in now. And not having to be affluent to create and maintain a sim (so Second Life can keep boasting it’s “The world’s largest user-created virtual world”) would help, too. SL gets copyright to everything we make, and then charges sim owners so much that good sims die every month.
