Dear Sexist Person,
A letter to a man who told me I can be “won” by the man who provides me with the most “things”
It is very surreal to truly face the reality that our world looks upon women as slot machines. You give us a quarter, we put out and give you a prize. It is scary, that all the effort I put into my life’s work, my health and my intelligence will go virtually unnoticed because men are taught to look at me as nothing but an object to sexualized, used and limited.
I am a person, who is complex, highly intelligent, generous and just as financially and emotionally supportive as any man. I love being a woman. I don’t want to be a man. I am myself, and I like to give people things, and I provide for a very large community as a producer, journalist, promoter and activist.
I hope that one day, you will see woman as people, friends, lovers, providers and equals. It really scares me that there are men who don’t see us as complete people. I hope this letter has touched your heart, and destroyed what this backwards world has taught you. Being a woman is wonderful. We deserve to be treated AS gifts and not given them.
