this is an adequate summary article, but what would have made it compelling is the instinct to research the actual factors behind Nintendo’s stock issues, versus mere speculation on what those are from afar. did you make an effort to contact people with connections to the manufacturing plants that N employs to churn the Switch out? maybe a significant number of the consoles outputted don’t pass QC, or perhaps the (presently underutilized) esoteric tech in the joycons is the root of the limitation? i suspect there is a rather banal explanation for what appears from a layman’s perspective to be a self-defeating corporate ethos, but in a world overwhelmed by daydreaming that passes for journalism and hype that begets hype, mundanity can positively stand out.
