Very interesting. In healthcare, data is very important and evidence-based practices drive much of the care delivered . Still, we must never forget to question and trust instinct. I’ve been in many situations in the ICU when the data reported from the patient monitors reads as stable and my instinct tells me differently. I question the data, make some adjustments and improve the patient’s status which in many cases could mean the difference between life and death. Great article Bill and good reminder!
