Houston’s Independent School District has been in the news the last few weeks as a result of a decision by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to take over the district. This decision, a result of a single “failing” school, is an odd one considering the overall success of Houston’s school district over the last few years.

Texas law allows the TEA to take over an entire district if even one school chronically “under performs.” …

Ralph “Godspeed You! Blackface Governor” Northam is in the news today for being bad on ending right-to-work in Virginia.

Northam, flanked by Republicans and “lost cause” propagating Dominion CEO Tom Farrell, told the Governor’s Advisory Council on Revenue Estimates that he “can’t foresee Virginia taking actions [that would include] repeal of the right-to-work law.

Northam’s comments come on the heels of the historic Democratic takeover of Virginia’s state government and the desire of some legislators to repeal right-to-work in the state.

Virginia “is one of the most anti-union states in the country.” It has one of oldest right-to-work laws on the books and forbids public-sector employees from bargaining collectively. …
