Final Idea+Recipe: Cheesy Cheeto Sugar Cookie! Ingredients for idea test 1 include sugar cookie mix (flour, baking powder, sugar, salt), butter, egg, cheese powder from krafts mac and cheese, orange food coloring gel, and Cheeto Puffs. Powdered Cheeto Puffs dusted on cookie.

Idea Generation: Since it is October, I am in the halloween mood so I wanted to make an orange cookie! At first, as I was brainstorming ideas, I was originally going to make pumpkin spice latte cookies and peppermint mocha cookies. I was influenced when I went into Target and Starbucks and came across the famous seasonal holiday drinks offered from Starbucks and grocery stores. I decided last minute as I was shopping inside of Target for ingredients that I was going to make Cheeto cookies. Before I went to Target, I was watching YouTube videos and came across a video of someone mentioning a bunch of their favorite snacks and Cheeto puffs came up. After watching that video, a recommended video appeared below and there was a Cheeto cookie video. I did some research on Cheeto cookies and found a bunch of other videos of people attempting to make it. I simplified the recipe to better fit my skills and used a cookie mix instead of making it from scratch. I decided to add Krafts mac and cheese powder to enhance the cheese flavor so there’s a balance between the cheese flavor and the sugar flavor. I was very curious to try this experiment because I would have never thought about eating a sugar cookie with cheese but surprisingly it turned out really good.

Idea Test 2: Hot Cheeto Chocolate Cookie Sandwich with Chocolate Chunks and Hot Cheeto Cream Cheese Frosting!
Ingredients for idea test 2 include chocolate cookie mix (flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, cocoa powder), egg, vegetable oil, chocolate chunks, Hot Cheetos, cream cheese, powdered sugar, butter, and vanilla extract.

Iteration: Flavor change from sugary and cheesy to spicy and chocolate, and frosting to no frosting. These are the changes I made between the two cookie ideas. The changes I made from my final cookie and the original sugar cookie recipe include adding Cheetos and powdered cheese mix from Krafts mac and cheese. I chose to go with the Cheesy Cheeto Sugar cookie because the other one was too spicy according to my critics when I had other people test them out after making them. I didn’t want to bring in cookies that would be too spicy that no one would eat them but everyone has a different spice tolerance because I did not think it was any spicier than eating the Hot Cheetos by themselves but I didn’t want to risk it.
