This week on Social
Perhaps an under-utilized tool in the MENA region even some statistics indicate that its penetration is higher in this region than the likes of Europe and Asia Pacific.
Promoted Pins is fairly new but accessible to all business to use the paid advertising platform. However, it does take a fair bit of time to create the pins, earlier you would need to manually edit the pins (each one of them ) !
Enter Pinterest Bulk Editor
It’s sole purpose of reducing time on manually changing pins and an easier way to create or edit many pins. Images can now be uploaded in bulk as opposed to it being uploaded one by one, it can be saved and used at a later stage. How convenient!
A similar comparison to Facebook Power editor is drawn while the power editor remains an online interface, Pinterest B.E works by downloading , filling out .CSV templates.
The primary use of this tool would be bulk editing and image uploads, it sounds like a strenuous process filling out .CSV template ; the more you do it — the faster you get ! Get on it!
Reddit (Android & IOS)
Reddit , the front page of the internet! We never thought we’d see this day coming, where Reddit launches an official app supporting both platforms. Not being mobile friendly in the past, drew a path to users to download third party apps that made the user experience bare-able!
However, with its new launch and a lot of updates on its way (fixing bugs) , the Reddit App offers a great user experience. Released just over a month ago, the app still faces errors and minor glitches, but be certain the team at Reddit will be on it, hopefully, faster than Facebook makes its next tweak!
Instagram just rolled out its new update with its latest layout (only display, don’t stress on posting updates :- “Turn me on for notifications” . A retro? A throwback 80/90’s theme? What do you think?
Launching in 2010, bought by a $1 billion in 2012 off Facebook, the one thing that Instagram maintained was it’s presentation, its look, its feel. While they have made significant changes over the years, the extension of the video plays from 15 seconds to 60 seconds. its video views etc ; is this way of Instagram subtle way of announcing its near launch its new algorithm with this refreshing layout?
The black and white motif does have its perks, as it emphasizes detail on the picture, certain pictures that were previously uploaded on Instagram have changed significantly.
Any change is never appreciated by any social network user however, everyone adapts and lives by it. In retrospect, its modern, scaled and the emphasis on the content that is uploaded or previously uploaded makes a difference (in a good way!)
