You say that like I have some responsibility to publicly debate this issue. I wrote my original response in defense of the children discussed in the article. I’m not going to engage with someone who is just using me as a strawman to attack a marginalized group.

By the way, I want to clarify something because I’ve been thinking about this exchange after letting my emotions cool off. I don’t even claim the label of woman, because I haven’t receive female socialization. I am a feminine being, but i understand the political context of being a woman. I have been harmed by the patriarchy to the extent it’s led people to attempt to psychologically and physically coerce me into masculinity, but I haven’t suffered the full extent of its attempt to control and disempower women. It’s dehumanizing and emotionally abusive to tell me that because I have a Y chromosome I’m automatically a violent assaulter, especially as someone who’s been abused by a female partner in the past.
