And to me, Tumblr reminds me of what the Internet used to be like, with all the weirdness of a psyched out rave party, the obsessiveness of a fan convention and the digital awareness of a futurist discussion group.

I feel the same way. I stay on Tumblr because it still looks like my favorite era in the life of the internet. I had the pleasure of experiencing the old, weird, wonderful way things were as an undersupervised child allowed to use my parents’ dialup connection whenever no one needed to use the phone. I hope this kind of internet is still viable, and I wonder whether it is or not.
